Our asset allocation is reviewed regularly by the managers to set the direction of the portfolios in the longer term. Any changes that are required between meetings in response to circumstances are also ratified by the managers at this time. Assets are allocated between bonds and equities, to regions of the world, alternative assets and strong thematic ideas. This asset allocation forms the starting point for portfolios with adjustments made as appropriate for your personal circumstances. Changes to asset allocation are implemented across the portfolios in the same way.

The asset allocation is applied to portfolios through the selection of stocks and funds. These are analysed and, if appropriate, recommended by managers for purchase or sale. These recommendations are discussed or ratified at the regular stock selection meetings and decisions are applied across the portfolios when it is suitable to do so.
